This is such a great #photo! The unnamed #photographer had a couple of options when #Epstein's victims were asked to raise their hands if they were still awaiting to meet with the #DOJ. With #PamBondi in the foreground, they could totally have used a different #focal length to get everyone into #focus. But they deliberately choose to focus on the victims, leaving #Bondi blurred out. This is the beauty and genius of #photography, how one technical decision changes everything.
#Football players playing #worldcup games in 39ºc heat (here's to France winning against heat AND Paraguay on Saturday), and matches being delayed because of severe #thunderstorms (here's to all #England fans getting stuck in pubs at 2am). Yes people, #climatebreakdown is raging down our door & we're pretending it's BAU. Anyone wanna bet if any world cups ever happen again they'll be indoors and people will be meh ah well 🤷🏽♀️ With 2034 in #Saudi anyway, it was the plan all along, innit?

@loriemerson@post.lurk.org for once #religion has a backbone, particularly #catholicism (to be fair #PopeFrancis had started the trend), I see no reason why it shouldn't be used. Not only it is legally perfectly justifiable, but that is the very essence of religions & beliefs, the destiny of humankind, our place in the world...If that isn't religious or at the very least spiritual, what is?
Given what is going on in the world, #silentSunday is destined to increasingly become an act of #radicalselflove. Switch off the #news and enjoy #breathing. Enjoy #hereandnow, the very underrated only #truth there is. And yes, eventually you can go into #organising, campaigning, advocating later in the week. But for now, enjoy being. If you must DO rather than BE, try #crafts, the #arts. Something to give the world the colours you want to see. Because no one else is going to do that for you.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social anyone care to explain what the benefit of having more sunlight on earth is supposed to be? Seriously i don't know. My first theory is #billionaires plan to create a #nuclear winter to a) get rid of most of the population while they survive in bunkers b) "solve" #globalwarming by creating a 100 year cloud cover. Or longer if required. The mirror satellite serve for the resorts in #Albania & #Gaza so they can play food gardening while tanning like when #America was great.

Absolutely incredible testimony from inside #Reform, examplifying how the #farright across the world has itself become enshittificated under the #Trump / #StephenMiller influence : that is, a total loss of idealism, even if it is #racist or #fascist (these are only means to an end), an absolute disregard for political office and the concept of public service, and 💯% cynical grifting using all means incl. #corruption, intimidation & not so covert violence. Share far and wide!

@Tutanota@mastodon.social AI should be rationed and allocated on actual positive social impact, specific medical research etc... It must be proven that the same result cannot be obtained in a reasonable time otherwise.
This is International House in #Brixton #London, a high rise that has been a thriving home to dozens of #community groups, #charities, #advocacy & #socialjustice orgs since 2018. There's an amazing #rooftopcafé & even saunas! But #Lambeth is seeking to sell it off to a #UAE property developer to turn it into... luxury flats & corporate offices (with token #socialhousing & commmunity space).
OBJECT now in the consultation before 12/03 & share!

@nixCraft I'm seeing a lot of comments about #EU #GDPR & Right to be Forgotten, However to train its #AI #Atlassian either uses metadata (by definition no identifier, things like story points & tasks classes), or in-app data (think: comments), where it will "remove direct identifiers, aggregate data, and apply protections before using it for training". So in a nutshell, GDPR not applicable and in theory, no additional #security risk. Issues around #IP & #copyright remain wide open.

#UK #media outfit #LondonCentric are living proof of the value of #independentmedia / #localmedia: being local to #London means they can follow up on the ground the many leads of a complex & evolving story, here the #Aziz family who control a large part of commercial & residential #realestate in the capital, and essentially operate on the margins or totally outside legality, while keeping a front through their #philanthropy. This is #investigativejournalism at its best!

That's a double-edged sword from #ZackPolanski to #Denton & #Gorton voters here👇🏽
because while I am sure people are not happy about #Starmer's performance, there is real anxiety & trauma left by the #Tories after we endured a string of increasingly short-lived & short-skilled unelected PMs.

I normally love #zackpolanski but this is pure demagogy and he knows it. #NigelFarage is only mentioned in the #EpsteinFiles via #SteveBannon, who notoriously has been trying to boost the #farright movement in Europe for over a decade. If Zack were referring to *that* viral photo of #Farage & #Epstein, it's been shown to be a fake by all #factchecking. This is a slippery slope, stop now @ZackPolanski@mastox.eu !
#Gaza has not been forgotten or forgiven,” said a #Labour councillor in the constituency. “Lots of us are now worried for our seats”. No shit 😂 !
Congratulations to the #Greens for their victory in #GortonDenton, hopefully opening a new area when basic decency, #socialjustice, no #genocide and supporting the #environment we depend on is not seen as some dangerous #leftist idea, or just impossible utopia (hear #Starmer sigh in imcomprehension as he's wheeled out).

So the #US embassador in #France has ignored 2 summons from the #QuaiDorsay aka French Ministry of Foreign affairs, after wading in TWICE in French affairs, essentially supporting the #farright. Charles Kushner is a real estate developer who spent time in prison for tax fraud and has zero #diplomacy experience. He's been appointed because... check notes 🤔 ... he is the father of #Trump’s son-in-law #JaredKushner.
