The metal ring behind the arm is a feature that was visible on the debris marked as 1 on the right hand image, showing the tail section of the M4000 post-attack. It's a metal band that runs around the interior of the bomb, the remains of which were documented at both sites.

What's visible in this image is the middle section of the bomb, with the barrier between the two precursors visible. There's also another metal band visible which the barrier is connected to. This band is visible in the M4000 diagram published by Russia between the two suspension lugs.

The argument here, that the enemy's appeal to rights is itself the lie, proof of guilt rather than a claim to be examined, has a documented lineage, and it doesn't come from anywhere good and certainly doesn't end up anywhere better.
There's a lot of focus on democratic resilience from civil society actors at the moment, and rightly so, but I'm concerned there's not really a shared definition of what democratic resilience is, and often appears to fall back on a few ideas that I think are questionable.

🧵 Democracy feels like it's in a rough state at the moment across the globe, and we hear various explanations, like polarisation, extremism, disinformation, and loss of trust. But what if those explanations are mainly symptoms and we've been trying to treat them rather than the underlying causes?
The good thing about none of the major parties running in Clacton and Count Binface running against Farage is that it effectively gives Farage nothing to run against, aside from complaining he's running against a man with a bin on his head, which is inherently funny.
