It’s striking that, while Andor has its share of action setpieces, you never really hear fans talk about them when they’re gushing about the show. If you ask someone their favorite scene, 9/10 times it’s a monologue or a two-character conversation.

Like, I vaguely recall reading a couple “Mencius Moldbug” posts in the Golden Age of Blogging, & it was just so clearly crackpot stuff that it would’ve sounded absurd to think it would be taken seriously by, never mind significantly influence, billionaire political donors & senior public officials.

One of the striking things about this race is that there’s almost always SOME factual negative thing to say about your opponent, at least in the eyes of some voters. Whereas every single major talking point against Talarico is just an easily-demonstrable lie.

Maeve does not play well with other dogs. This is not her fault—this is something that was done to her—but it will make her tricky to adopt. If you cannot give her a home, you can take her out for a couple hours that she will otherwise spend alone locked in a small cell. She will love you for this.

Man, I love Gerwig and all, but I am solidly in the camp that thinks the chronological reordering of the series was a serious mistake. Magician’s Nephew works best as a reveal/origin story AFTER you’ve already been introduced to the world via the Wardrobe.
