@mossyfoot @malwaretech As recently as this week, I used an ATM which had that "please activate Windows" watermark visible in the corner of the screen. (At least the other bank AFAIK uses Linux for its ATMs, replacing the OS/2 they used previously.)

So far, I haven't found any alternative; the options one can buy here are all Android, Apple, and a few traditional "feature phones".

@ObsidianUrbex@mstdn.social For some reason, the first picture reminds me a lot of the deeper levels of the classic Portal 2 videogame. It feels as if these floor plates mark places which will be covered by one of the gels which are introduced in these levels.

@jann@infosec.exchange We are supposed to write all our company code (variables, comments, commit messages, bug reports, etc) in English, just in case someone who is not a speaker of our language joins the team someday. The interface is obviously written in English, with a translation back to our language (just in case etc). We get so used to things being in English that if you asked which language I'm viewing that interface in I'd have to check.
