i know i know strictly speaking you only need 2 ethernet slots inside your router but like i dont want to bottleneck everything through an unnecessary switch. this lets me get 1gbps between any 2 systems instead of only half that

actually im not sure thats true come to think of it. i think ip is smart enough to route between 2 devices directly over the switch and the router only provides the required routing information (mac addresses and such)
