actually im not sure thats true come to think of it. i think ip is smart enough to route between 2 devices directly over the switch and the router only provides the required routing information (mac addresses and such)

@coolbean@brain.worm.pink switch doesn't use ip but yes, it learns the mac address itself and pcs should adress it to the mac once they got that from delivering one packet to the ip iirc
