Dungeon Gals was a lot of fun. It's what it looks like on the tin; it's a light blend of puzzle platformer (how do I get over there), collectables (lots of money gems, and some big optional gems in each level), riddle solving (in a la mulana sense?), and combat (a few boss fights). I know a lot of folks might bounce off of any of these genres, so I think I'd say that all of these are light elements and could be done by somebody who is """not good""" at them without too much frustration. The star of the show here is all of the characters: not just the dungeon gal trio, but also all of the npcs as well. If anything, the combat especially is especially light. The "hallway" enemies are mostly there just to give a little bit of texture to the levels, and the bosses are the only thing that present a challenge. I think if you were trying to play without getting hit, some of the bosses might actually be quite hard. What mitigates this is that you can literally order from the online bovinae bakery via a menu and full heal at any time for 200 money. By the end of the game, I had 14000 money on hand after spending at least 3000 on heals. So, the combat can just be easily brute forced. But I think this also makes the money aspect a little bit weak too. The end of the game does include some different ending sequences if you have enough money (which you don't know until literally the last moment of the game), and so up until then there's almost no point in collecting oodles of money other than it's just fun to platform around and collect stuff. I don't think this is really a combat game or a collectable game though and so I think it's fine that these systems are much more "loose" than they would be in other games that are focusing on those elements. The level design and movement mechanics are really good. You have three characters: Wendy the satyress (she/her), Izzy the cow (she/her), and Rosa the moth (it/its). They each have different movement/attack mechanics (and arguably a second subtle way to use them that you get taught later), but there's also fun mechanics that they all interact differently. They all do different things in water (izzy sinks vs rosa hopping on the surface) or different things on bouncy mushrooms. The level design was such that I never felt very stuck; it was usually obvious when something was impossible or needed to be done by a different character, and the game did a good job of slowly introducing various platforming mechanics. It was fun without being frustratingly challenging. The best part of the game is the characters. The dungeon gals all smooch when you switch between them. The writing is fun. There's a lot of npcs. There's a surprising amount of backstory reveal for each character, and a surprising amount of narrative going on in the dungeoneering that's happening. This is truly the heart of the game. And, I guess this goes without saying, but I should say it anyway, it's that I am personally delighted by just how explicitly gay and trans and poly and furry and etc etc etc this game is. There's discussions about hormones and surgeries and pronouns and relationships. Rosa's ex shows up. There's identity-related nail polish. There's pronouns in the credits. This would probably be too much for some folks, but it's very much a game for me, specifically. I love it.

New #review today: "#Grex is back with another blast of challenging musical statements, exclamations, and interrogations. When I first reviewed the band’s 2018 release Electric Ghost Parade, I wrote, “Musically, they’re all over the map, incorporating some sweet melodies, jazzy improvisations, indie guitar rock, strange bursts of sound effects and noise, and more.” That’s certainly just as true for Auntie + Tebs as it was for that album." #ExposeOnline #AvantRock #AvantJazz http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/grex-auntie-tebs-2.html

New #review today: "As it turns out, what’s next from the German duo #cHoclatFRoG is What’s Next? a set of eight tracks that expands their sound even further from their beginnings. Father (Rainer Ludwig) and son (Tim Ludwig) once again handle all the instruments and nearly all the vocals in this complex and varied music, ranging from crushing Crimsonesque dissonant math to contemplative electric piano." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock #MathRock #AvantProgressive http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/choclat-frog-whats-next-2.html

I almost missed this: Like, anyone who knows anything about "AI" knows it's snake oil. There's nothing intelligent or metacognitive about it at all. It's like basing a television show on your predictive text inputs on your phone with some modest tweaking here and there. *It was always going to be an emotionless boring sack of vapid shit* #AI #Sitcom #Reviewhttps://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/sep/15/no-big-deal-review-is-this-how-ai-ends-humanity-with-a-sitcom-so-bad-it-bores-you-to-death

Last review of the season, and let's go to the point: it's a bad model. I don't recommended this one. I'm not even submitting the video to Gaomon for review before posting because I know they would ask me to not post it (it happened in the past with another brand). But I think it should be also known, that's my role in reviews: cover the bad and the good.

I'm trying to start a gaming-club (like a book-club but for gaming) with my friends. Many of them are eager to join, kind of surprised! 😃 Do you have any good tips on how to do these things? Anything we should be mindful of going into it? I thought we could gather everyone's favorite (but also a bit obscure?) games in a list, and just choose a random one and get to it. Maybe give them a month or two to play through it and make notes/review it? 🤔 #Gaming #VideoGames #Club #Review #AskFedi

What’s The Best Thing You’ve Ever Found Randomly On The Street? Daily writing promptWhat’s the best thing you’ve ever found randomly on the street?View all responses Sounds like a pretty random thing to be a “best” thing, but I was once leaving a Bullet For My Valentine show in Manchester. On the floor was a signed guitar pick from what turned out to be someone from the band! I could not believe my luck, I cherished that thing for YEARS. https://open.spotify.com/track/5pKCDm2fw4k6D6C5Rk646C?si=8f5ea8aff09b4b79 Unfortunately I kept it in my wallet in a little plastic sleeve and two “lovely” gentlemen decided it was only right to relive the burden of carrying my wallet in my pocket. Enough about my sad tale, what is the best thing you have ever found on the ground? All rights to the song used in this post are retained by the recording artist. New #review today: "#Delirium's Sesta Strada lungo il Tempo is the latest chapter in a musical journey that now spans more than five decades. Emerging from the first wave of Italian #ProgressiveRock in the early 70s, surviving a hiatus of more than thirty years, and returning with a string of increasingly confident releases, the Genoese group continues to explore familiar themes of time, memory, travel, and the human condition. More importantly, they continue to do so with a vitality that many younger bands would envy." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/delirium-sesta-strada-lungo-il-tempo-6.html
