Global prices for rice, sugar, cotton, and pulses are surging due to severe climate shocks, reduced production forecasts in major growing regions, and soaring shipping costs, adding to worldwide inflationary pressures
Rice prices have hit two-year highs, pressured by tight supplies and rising logistical expenses, with container costs surging from $5,000 to nearly $55,000

The policy of starving Gaza" — Hebrew media reports that the trucks entering the Gaza Strip today included:
A truck loaded with jelly candy
A truck filled with Nutella chocolate
Large quantities of Coca-Cola
This comes at a time when the number of aid trucks carrying flour and essential supplies is being reduced, while flour is already becoming scarce across the Strip.

‼️‼️For days I've been asking for $50 to buy food for my children, but there's been no progress. Donations stopped 15 days ago, and without your support, I can't feed my hungry children. Please, please stand by me; my situation is dire. 😞😞😞😭😭Tired and frustrated, with no other option but to ask for help—even that's exhausting. 😞😞😞😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔

Today my son Abdullah was diagnosed with malnutrition. I went to the clinic hoping he could get nutritional supplements, but they told me they are only given to children from one month to five years old, and Abdullah, who is seven, is not eligible.
They only gave him vitamin drops and insisted that what he needs is a healthy, nutrient-rich diet, which is unfortunately beyond my means.

I'm rating today a solid 3/10 but here are #3GoodThings:
-
I went into a local bookshop and bought a copy of The Little Prince in Arabic. Fuck knows how we found it in that shop but I went looking for it and I have yet another language to add to my collection of books!
-
Dessert was chocolatey heaven this evening.
-
I picked up a book from the free book swap and I'm really enjoying it. It's Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz.

Honey basically never goes bad. Archaeologists have tasted honey found in ancient Egyptian tombs — still edible after 3,000 years. Almost no water, natural acidity, and enzymes that release tiny amounts of hydrogen peroxide make it a place most microbes simply can't survive.
