Somebody calls that Weblate magic, but here you can see Weblate impact on “Ada & Zangemann – A Tale of Software, Skateboards and Raspberry Ice Cream” localization. #FOSDEM

The #FOSDEM weekend is over, and we're now working on the feedback we've collected there. One of the frequently asked questions was how to educate developers to improve localization. @nijel@mastodon.social turned that answer into https://docs.weblate.org/en/latest/devel/starting.html#educating-developers-for-proper-internationalization

No matter how many things happen all around, you can count on our #Weblate team. Like every other month, a new major release is here. Update and enjoy 5.16 with logical changes and comfortable improvements! And raised security, of course. https://weblate.org/news/archive/weblate-516/

Yes, we provide free, as in both meanings, hosting for projects with libre/open-source licenses. We rely on FSFE/OSI with the license requirements.

As mentioned at https://weblate.org/hosting/#libre, the plan limits are enough for reasonably large projects. Projects bigger than 160k can ask.
Everything starts at https://hosted.weblate.org/hosting/ and all requirements are clearly stated there.

Thank you for yourfeedback;, we will update wording in multiple places thanks to it!

New #Weblate version is out, 5.15, and it proudly feels like it's five of them in one. So many new features, plenty of fixes, some security advisories resolved, and a new generation of the frontend. Read about it all at https://weblate.org/news/archive/many-fives-in-a-major/ #YourSoftwareYourLanguage #opensource

The LLT of @orangesunny@mastodon.social called

Everyone benefits from translations; if you make them useful

comes up #Janson room of #FOSDEM in about 5 minutes!

#BoF follows at 17:00 in H3242

Every .1 release is like giving gifts. Proud of your recent release, you realize it's only almost perfect. So you fix a few surprise features and add a pinch of security fixes just to make it truly perfect this time. Several security researchers leveraged the power of #opensource and focused on #Weblate recently, discovering potential issues present for a long time but never exploited. Update to Weblate 5.15.1 today and tune to the calmness for the holidays!
