Classification of biological diversity is crucial for scientific research. The Terrestrial Parasite Tracker Thematic Collections Network project has taken a step forward in addressing persistent challenges in managing taxonomic lists. (Link: https://doi.org/10.1093/isd/ixad023)

The project focused on high diversity groups like arthropods, where specimen data is limited. We developed a workflow to gather expert-verified taxonomic names from various sources, aligning them, and creating a unified resource.

The collaboration involved reconciling taxonomic resources against large data publishers, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Despite low discordance with @gbif@ecoevo.social and #CatalogueOfLife, the impact spans thousands of names and hundreds of thousands of specimen records.

Demonstrating a mechanism for delivery and maintenance of taxonomic resources, this research addresses the ongoing challenge of efficiently sharing, accessing, and updating taxonomic information. A model for future endeavors in the field!
