I can't believe that the Canadian government shut down the weather radio service. How is anyone supposed to get weather updates outside of a city now? This was an essential service and they just turned it off and told people to use an app, when there is no public telecom operator, and the vast majority of the country doesn't have internet cell service. Absolutely ridiculous. Radios were perfect for this use case. Now you need a sat phone subscription?? #canada #hiking #backpacking

If I do this ride, it will be the longest one I've ever done! I want to work up to doing longer rides and maybe do an overnight trip somewhere this summer, so it will be good practice. Not sure how much I should be bringing in terms of water and snacks!
