The only thing I need to generate my static blog is any C compiler to build the gemtext -> html converter, and bash + sed, which are everywhere. No need to install Hugo in version X.Y.Z or some similar specific tool. No version upgrade of the tooling required, zero breaking change. It feels so nice. Linux? FreeBSD? Works out of the box. I could be teleported 20 years ago, and it would probably still work. So I bet it will still work 20 years from now.

@aeva@mastodon.gamedev.place @cwebber@social.coop If it helps, what I really miss from C++ when coding in C are a standard hash table implementation, and references. For dynamic arrays, having a basic implementation in C using realloc is quick to learn & can, but doesn't have to be generic. Lua can help for hash tables because it includes a good enough implementation. But you have to manage the seam between C and Lua, which is pretty elegant, but it's still two different layers of execution. (… I might miss std::ranges too)

@tmaz@piaille.fr Oui, je l'ai repéré ! Il est bien en activité alors ? Notre appareil à raclette fait sauter les plombs, ça fait des mois que je me dis qu'il faut que je l'y fasse réparer ou au moins diagnostiquer. Et j'ai un radio réveil qui grésille tout le temps.
