This is an incredible story on a 34-year-old Ukrainian woman, Iryna Terekh, who used to design furniture and is now CEO of Ukraine’s largest private defense company. She designed the process slashing drone-making time that has enabled Ukraine so much military success.

I saw this guy’s shirt - “Universidad del Norte de Iowa” and I thought it was a novelty shirt and he’d probably never heard of Iowa. Often I see something like this in Spain, and it’s from like Brandy Melville. I was wrong! He is from Riverside, Iowa; his daughter went to UNI and the Spanish Club had these shirts made

I think it’s awesome that Mo’ne Davis, who as a 13yo became the first girl to pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series, just made her debut in the new Women’s Pro Baseball League.
Really bad. Not shocking to me, but may be to those who haven’t followed.
At least 1 in 4 former NFL players develop CTE (a brain disease). Numbers actually likely much higher as it was diagnosed in 1/4 of former players (can only be diagnosed after death) and many more were left untested. Gift link.

Found this piece smart & well-done. Much of what we criticize as degeneracy-making a living as an influencer/on OnlyFans/in crypto, or giving up all ambition & scraping by-is conspicuous despair. We’ve gone from hedge phase to speculative to Ponzi.
But what will come next? Will anger & frustration at a rentier system too tilted towards those at the top just be scapegoating of the other/immigrants (as we see), or will we push for structural change?

In the Philly Inquirer, which I continue to say is among the best newspapers in the U.S., Dr. Atheendar S. Venkataramani writes: “We are overlooking the most critical element of public health for Americans: feeling stuck. …It’s more than just poverty, loneliness, or a lack of opportunity — and it is one of the biggest threats to our public health”
A devastating story on people on Flight 164, deported by Trump just before Venezuela earthquake. Most died/are missing presumed dead. Most were in asylum process, half had TPS before Trump canceled it. Tremendous reporting by María Luisa Paul & Arelis Hernández 🎁

I really think (and hope far more than I think) that this is the beginning of the end of Infantino.
And this gives me hope that narcissistic dictators can meet their end very suddenly. Trump next?! Please!

I don’t think goals in 3rd place game should count towards records.

For those who wondered if FIFA president Gianni Infantino could be shamed into a rapid resignation, we now have the obvious answer.
Infantino is fighting on and on late Wednesday evening, he appeared to score a victory for the first time since his clandestine plot to sell off stakes in FIFA’s business came to light. Infantino summoned FIFA’s management board to Morocco and those in attendance signed off an extraordinary show of faith.
Then there were some choreographed thumbs-up photographs. Nothing to see here.
From Infantino's perspective, it was abundantly clear — the show must go on.
So, what happens now?

This story is just straight up insane.
It’s really depressing.
It’s about a 21yo Andrew Tate wannabe who was arrested - thanks to simps, had to look that up - after years of abuse of women & girls he forced/coerced into OnlyFans work while keeping most money owed them.

No cuadra.

@setmeravelles@lgbtqia.space haha that’s funny. When I first moved to Valencia from NYC, I saw three people (not in same group) in one day wearing a shirt supposedly from a bar in Brooklyn. I was baffled how it could be so popular that three random people in Spain knew the bar and I had never heard of it. I later saw the shirt at Brandy Melville or Springfield. The bar didn’t exist lol.
That’s what I expected today. But when I asked him, he was like, “no español” & I switched to English.
Good chance for Oyarzabal there. Even if it didn’t result in a goal.
If you are in Spain and do a Google search today (this has been true for me for weeks), it gives Spain colors and a ⚽️. If you have a VPN, and put it to Argentina, it gives Argentina colors. If other countries, it does both (not in every case, I tried a few, and France & Italy didn’t).
Dembéle for France and Bellingham for England both score in final minutes to make it a baseball score final. England wins 6-4 over France

And then Iowa voted for him anyway, in all three elections 😭😭😭
Brutal decision by so many people from my home state, which has historically been a swing state! I hope they make better decisions in the midterm elections this November and then in 2 years, in presidential elections as well.

Trump’s comments drew boos from his audience in Iowa, as well as widespread condemnation from Republicans and Democrats alike.
Donald Trump himself was exempted from military service after receiving four student deferments between 1964 and 1968, and a medical deferment for a “bone spur in his foot” after graduating from college.
