I do love it when my address breaks "international" forms....
Get your shit together people!
Use Unicode/UTF-8!
It's the new hot shit since 1991!

Tech-Bros running in a bubble of "technology is unpolitical" that is beyond me.
But hey! We are all just following orders, aren't we....
Tech is becoming more and more political.
Because it always was! And it always will be!
Did I mention that my tea-cup has the ideal size?

Finally back home after a great @phpugffm@phpc.social meetup. Intimate, but great talks and awesome chats!
I had fun and learned someting new, so 🎉
And thanks to #byte5 for the hospitality!
Wow. I grew up near a city directly at the river rhine.
It has an official gauge for the river rhine.
The lowest known value of that gauge was 2cm recorded in 2018.
Today the official value is -5cm....

This is *not* just a hot summer!

I just had an idea. Which VC people could I ask to get the funding for a several billion startup?
The Goal: Harvest electricity from lightningbolts....
Should work in several decades...

I know places where such a commit fails CI.
It took 3 weeks to get people aboard a new structure. 3 Weeks of painful complaints though 😁

Turned out one was written by a MacOS system, the other one by a Linux system and they used different Unicode-normalisations... 🤦
I learned a lot about Unicode that day. Things I never was able to unsee 🙈

You know what's worse than an email with "Kindly note the attachment"?
An email with "You have a new document in your inbox. Simply log in to your online banking to retrieve the document."
And I am not even talking about the "simply"...
I am customer at an insurance company that sends me these documents directly via a PHP encrypted email. It *is* possible to use email for secure communication.
But seemingly not for german banks.

Replying to
@naderman@phpc.social Well... I'd argue that that can be reached with decentralized key-signatures as well - after all that is what SLSA is based on - just the trust-framework is a different one. Which is BTW - at least to my understanding - lacking a common way of revoking trust into certain artifacts in hindsight.
And decentralized key-structures can also be used in automated ways, so no "human error" necessary...
But 🤷
