Anyway, good morning, friends.
Got a heartwarming email from someone saying that because of one of my #Blaugust posts they'd donated a camera to https://www.the-dps.co.uk/ (the org was local to them, so no postage).
It's hard to think of a better result than someone deciding to make a local difference because of something I wrote.
A Library’s Hidden Cost (& How They Help You Avoid It) #Blaugust2026

"It's here to stay" is the argument of AI apologists who don't want to contend with the legitimate criticisms.
Microplastics are here to stay as well, but I don't see you downing a bowl of frosted, shredded polyester every morning.
I feel like I will need to retire before I feel comfortable writing a blog post about this, so instead I'll simply share this article without comment.
Every time I get in a discussion with someone who is adamant on defending their AI use I eventually ask repeatedly for citations for their claims.
I never get them.
I only have these discussions with educators.
Educators who cannot provide citations.
Think about that.

Cat has been moved.
The blanket is mine.
... but at what cost?

@sidd_harth0_5h4h@elekk.xyz He's already reclaimed the blanket.
That I'm under it is irrelevant.
He's on top of it. :sockethead:
