Gotta hand it to butch lesbians. I NEVER see men on some "I never thought I'd fall in love with another man."
Doesn't happen, folks.
It's only a butch lesbian serving the full package and then fast forwarding to happily ever after.

Sometimes I feel like life must be better for people with low self-esteem. When things don't go your way, you can at least keep busy blaming yourself and setting yourself on rigorous paths of self-improvement.

When you feel good about yourself and things don't go your way, you just sit in powerlessness and consternation wondering why the world is so terribly unfair.

Ten Years of Trans Advocacy in Jamaica: In 2015, Akilah White and Neish McLean started a blog to amplify transgender voices in a country TIME magazine story had once called the most homophobic place on earth. That blog became TransWave Jamaica, the country's first trans-led advocacy organisation
A decade on, TransWave Jamaica has produced a National Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Health Strategy and become a formal partner in the country's HIV response.

I don't think people should own homes in places where they don't live and/or have any serious connection.
My mom owns an investment property in a state she's only ever visited once. She was having an issue with it recently and it occurred to me that it could all be solved a lot easier by someone who lived there and was invested day to day in the community.
Capitalism really is about distance, alienation. Invisible worker, owner, landlord, decision-maker.
Being an American is an almost unbearable weight many days of the week.
Maybe trying to deal with grief alone is like trying to get a long sofa from the curb up to the living room of your 4-story walk up apartment. No amount of physical strength will allow you to move it by yourself. You need others to help. It takes paid professionals, friends, or maybe even a friendly stranger or two!

I want our representation to live up to the vulgar, fascinating, transgressive sensibilities I see so clearly in the queer people in my real life. I want bushes and bite. I want something that could get you in trouble.

Exit and Exception - Boston Review

> The Board of Peace was not born of a negotiated treaty, nor is it reflective of customary state practice. Unlike the body established to manage Iraq after the United States’s illegal invasion, the Board of Peace is not recognized as an occupying power and is not subject to occupation law. Instead, with the gift of Security Council authorization, it enjoys its own international legal status.
Qualities that characterise the current U.S. administration:
* cruelty/violence
* corruption/collusion
* defensiveness
* destructiveness
* hubris/pride
* ignorance
* impatience
* incompetence
* miserliness
* racism/sexism etc.
* restrictiveness
It is odd to me that there is no honest effort to counterbalance any of this. All their shows of supposed beneficence are just veiled collusion or stingy coin drops (e.g. $90 checks to seniors). It is like governance by pre-awakening Ebenezer Scrooge.
Today, the Senate will vote today on their War Powers Resolution to block the use of U.S. forces in unauthorized hostilities against Cuba. President Donald Trump has already ordered an illegal military blockade of Cuba that is causing a man-made humanitarian crisis on the island, and he continues to threaten direct military action. While speaking at a conference in Miami in March, President Trump stated that “Cuba’s next.”
