mastodon 4.8.0-alpha.3+glitchA Canadian, and then an Albertan, on Treaty 6 lands. I will defend Canada from both foreign and domestic enemies. I urge fellow Gen X to also stand up now so that fewer of our youth are needed in our civilian defense force.
I toot too much about the apparent collapse of democracy because we are collectively failing to stop fascism in its tracks.
Fair Warning: Sharp commentary!
If you're conservative or religious you should probably block me, my patience is now a matter of history.

The ucp traitors have already undermined the ability to investigate electoral fraud.
"The summary says the bill will also introduce a new threshold for investigations, putting the onus on a complainant to “provide a substantively completed investigation” before the election commissioner can even start looking into a complaint.

And, if the bill passes, it would force the election commissioner to defend their decisions as a “quasi-prosecutor” before the courts if they are appealed, the document says.
McClure points to further concerns about the elimination of vote anywhere provisions, the removal of vouching for voter identification, and the change to timelines associated with special ballots."
@tod@hci.social Some of the anti-democracy actions of the Lib-Cons that have undermined our democracy:
- whipped votes in parliament
- omnibus bills
- authoritarian control in the PMO
- allowing MP's that have no security clearance in the house
- not addressing foreign hostile espionage attacks, from Postmedia to Fraser Institute to social media to Ai (eg FB should have been cancelled when it blocked Canadian news, X is a fucking nazi platform...etc etc)
- floor crossing without byelections
- failure of federal govt to address charter violations and sham regulations by provinces (failed federal oversight)
- failure to fix the courts that particpate in cultural genocide (ignoring constitution)
- no access to the justice system by anyone not a millionaire
- gross failure on treason and sedition from the convoy to the nazi rally in BC for T&R
I have many more points but am all wound up now because watching the capitalists destroy our democracy with impunity is fucking demoralizing and enraging
