That also gives you several other informations:
If Discord can read the device ID, every other website or program can?
If Discord can’t and courts are forcing Microsoft to give out that data for Take2 to correlate IP adresses or other data, that is also really bad
So the only solution is to get the fuck away from everything Microsoft.

To make this clear: Patreon is a platform mainly used by creators, artists, musicians to get a reliable income directly from their fans. Apple is trying to steal 30% of the income of our favorite artists.

No, to be a swastika (Hakenkreuz) it needs to be surrounded by a circle. This is a manja, you see them all the time in Buddhism and the culture that the Nazis stole it from is over 6k years old.
No, the Nazis also used them without circles. And modern neonazis and edgy teenagers also are total fuckwits who don’t really use the CI stylebook of the NSDAP for correct swastika usage. So you can only check this out of context: Some hidden symbol in a washing machine from Asia? Chances are good that this used as an asiatic lucky charm. Those graffiti in your local underpass in a western town? Chances are that they were not drawn by a rouge gang of buddists trying to with you luck.

It's actually crazy that you can burn $100B in a project that everybody mocked from the beginnings and still be CEO after that while having earned billions in compensation

There’s also the root problem of employees having no agency to kick out misbehaving people. There’s this whole “the customer is king” ethos in American commerce and this is enabling the worst people to harass people without any consequences. If you are getting kicked out and banned from most stores in your town because you are an abusive asshole, you might think again about your behavior and maybe even change. If everything that is coming from your bad behavior is that some random employee is getting fired, yes, this will enable even worse behaviour.

I'm really fascinated by those tweets by the iranian embassies: The USA is waging war against Iran and the Iranians are allowed to spread their own war propaganda with their official accounts on US platforms.

Let's be honest. The fediverse will also have a huge bot problem soon. We kind of have this right now, but if you look a little bit further in the future, when we maybe come a little bit more relevant, spammers and scammers and all those propagandists will also come here. I suspect that they're already here.
Currently we have no protection at all. You can setup an instance, federate and start with your federated vote manipulation. Our human moderators can't keep up with bots posting spam to their community and we are totally helpless against LLM bots pushing some agenda.

So what happens to the data? As far as I can see you’re uploading your music listens to the service and you don’t have a private profile, it’s always public and everything is being provided as a download for everybody. So everybody can get the full amount of my listening history, including Metadata telling them for example when I was awake, listened to sad songs or drinking songs on a thursday night?

Be careful with what you are watching in the next few years. Hollywood gave itself a diverse face in the last few years. Put in black actors, had some strong women in lead roles, had some gay characters and so on. I'm afraid that we will see some movies pushing hart right MAGA topics in the next time. Movies that are pushing for traditional gender roles, have gay people as evil masterminds, immigrants as criminals and so on. We already saw that with all those movies with evil arab guys in the bush era. Hollywood was taken over by Trump's tech billionaires, you will see this turn it in the media you are watching. That will influence you and maybe you shouldn't watch such stuff

I remember getting my first MP3s at a LAN party and it was revolutionary. You could just copy over music to your computer from other computers and they had quite the selection? Awesome! I totally filled my (tiny) hard disk to the brim and then listened the shit out of them with Winamp. I learned a while later that you could also rip CDs and that was also revolutionary. Then Napster, the first Discmens with MP3 support and so on - MP3s are awesome!

All of them - there might be a reason to want to get rich as fuck so that you can live comfortable and buy everything you want. I totally can understand that a superyacht in the Mediterranean can be awesome or that your private jet is more comfy than flying in a normal plane. But there is a limit: Just imagine being Elon Musk, being so rich that you could use a small part of your money to eradicate some illnesses or lift millions of people out of poverty and then spending your time shitposting on Twitter

I mean - it kind of does work. There are millions of people socializing in online games. Playing World of Warcraft with their friends or people they met there. Building crazy things on a Minecraft server while forming friendships. Playing on that Counterstrike Server for decades with the same people. Forming that guild or that clan in an MMORPG. There is something that does work. Not sure why Zuckerberg wanted VR to be part of that and that Facebook touch of poo is also not helping, but trying to build "World of Warcraft for your aunt" is not the worst idea.

Just a little warning: US copyright works different than copyright in other countries. So be careful if you're not living in the land of the crazy orange one and look up your local rules. Publishers will defend their copyrights even if something is public domain in the US.

I’ve been using LastFM for nearly two decades now. First of all, having personal listening statistics is kind of fun. It might be not for everybody, but it’s nice to see which albums are your most played over a year or what you listened to back in 2015, how your favorite artists changed, which album really vibed with you and so on.
Second, you can get really good recommendations for new music when you have a larger user base and are running into a smaller genres. So just like Amazon’s and people who bought this product also bought that product for music. So people who listen to Britney Spiels also like to listen to Christina Aguilera. That might be obvious for you, but it’s totally interesting if you go down some of these genres and if you want to explore them.
And on a broader scale, listening data is quite valuable to create a good music service. So if somebody never heard of a band called Deep Purple and wants to change that, there might be this one song everybody knows from Deep Purple. And this is, of course, the most popular, but how do you find out that this is the most popular? So if you have your own Jellyfin installation, you load in several albums of Deep Purple, but you need some data source to tell you that ‘smoke on the water’ is that famous song from Deep Purple that everybody’s listening to.

It would be interesting to see how this works in Chrome. I would guess that it could be the same - people tend to leave their browsers open with hundreds of tabs and will never reboot their laptops. If you play a random game for 2 hours, bit flips shouldn't be a problem. But if you keep your browser open for weeks or months with hundreds of tabs, that may cause problems.

Yeah - Facebook kind of is the right company to produce something like this. They kind of had a little bit of this with Farmville back in the day. They have all those people and your aunt on their apps. There has to be a way to get all those Facebook users into gaming, to get all those WhatsApp groups to play together or to implement something on Instagram. It's really stupid how they did this

Those blocks might be not perfect, but they were part of a program to build housing for all those people living in quite bad conditions after the war and after everything that went through in eastern europe in the 20th century. They needed millions of homes and quick. And they might be ugly to some people, but they are better than slums and you shouldn’t take their condition today after several decades for what they were when they were new.
