Epic Null

@cR0w@infosec.exchange I AM NOT A MANAGER. AS A NON MANAGER, I DO NOT MANAGE EMPLOYEES. FROM THAT STANDPOINT, I SHOULD NOT BE IN CHARGE OF ANY AGENTS

@cR0w@infosec.exchange As evidenced from it running with AN EMPLOYEE'S CREDENTIALS RATHER THAN ITS OWN

@futurebird@sauropods.win Maybe I can help with that urge. The problem is NOT that we are incapable of makikg better software. It's that you have to be really good at marketing to a select group of people who do not use or understand the software. That, and specifically that, is why our software is shit.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu wait what This doesn't look right either

You know if we are gonna use a collective term for them, we really should call "Script Kiddies" something that reflects their actual impact. They use cheap known exploits either across a wide range of targets, or while targeting an individual low-value target. Perhaps Malware Mosquitoes?

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social I think we have a good number of the software tools already. They aren't perfect, but they are functional. We could use a shed in Idaho (non-specific) for location easily enough, and though hardware prices currently hurt, a skilled accountant may be able to get the hardware to work. The problem is going to quickly become staff. A system administrator, software developer, and accounting firm are costs that will add up and be tight regular charges. Without scale, there is no way to offer even a solid suite of services at a price that nonprofits can justify paying (late note: I went with "Accounting Firm" because that's probablh cheaper than a full time accountant. And fully forgot to add a law firm...)

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social Regardless of who the nonprofits were, Microsoft is proving themselves to be an unreliable partner. That needs to weigh heavily on everyone using their stuff.

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social It painfully makes sense. Nonprofits hurt for money constantly. Of course they would go where they go. The problem is systemic... how would we begin to patch it? (Not "even begin", I think finding a sustainable model and then beginning with it is the hard part.)

@cR0w@infosec.exchange @kajer@infosec.exchange Yeaaaaaah that phrase should have been mocked to the ground when it was popularized...

@darkuncle@infosec.exchange also because I cold replied to you: I refuse to use body based insults. I hope this will do instead: Kim Jong Un is a self-absorbed asshole.

@FranceskaMann@freeradical.zone @futurebird@sauropods.win @wdjorth@mastodon.online Our small scale organization structures were torn down and neglected for at least a generation, so now we have put ourselves in the largest Prisoner's dilema we could ever have generated?

@hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange It's a shame too, cause a good systemic issue breakdown makes a HUGE impact when it comes to getting through to me as an untrusting reader. It's the difference between "You repeat what others say" and "Oh so here are your values and foundation. Maybe I can decide to trust you?"

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social Pricing on that is convieniently "Call Sales"

@dreid@wandering.shop Marketing, mostly

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social what most nonprofits need is a society that takes care of its members so the nonprofit need not exist. I cannot provide that either.

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social I think the only way this works is if we first get to a fully integrated suite of tools and then go after enterprise users... but that masively increases scope and hardware demand...

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social WE CAN'T EVEN GO FOR THE EDUCATION MARKET BECAUSE MICROSOFT HAS ENSURED THERE IS NO EDUCATION MARKET!!! FUCKING WALMART BUISNESS PLAN!!

@AAKL@infosec.exchange @theregister@geeknews.chat @carlypage@mastodon.social BAD: this does major harm to the nonprofit WORSE: this might not be treated as the warning shot it is to every other company and nonprofit out there.

@masek@infosec.exchange Alright one for you. What country is the movie not avilable for streaming in?

@masek@infosec.exchange I struggle to understand this clip. Is that CEO saying that this very prediction mean the music has already stopped, and they are now holding a bag of shit?

@zak@infosec.exchange Did you check if your library has a scanner?

@cwbussard@ioc.exchange @androcat@toot.cat @Hex@kolektiva.social @Axomamma@mastodon.online @ATLeagle@mastodon.online @myerman@turtleisland.social I am unfamiliar with (and will continue to not be familiar with, thank you) that particular image, but it seems to me a single image loop would be easy enough to ignore. It would compress well and probably fit with existing optimizations.

"Open Weight" to me has always read a lot like "Open Bianary".

@JessTheUnstill@infosec.exchange You. I like you.

@munin@infosec.exchange AND ITS A CRITICAL FUCKING JOB. IT HAS TO WORK REGARDLESS OF WHAT EVENTS OCCOUR OUTSIDE OF IT.

@shonin@c.im How much medicine do you think that destroyed?

@cwebber@social.coop and something has snapped.

@kajer@infosec.exchange A frustratingly arbitrary way of measuring AI usage. It's less sane than it sounds imo.

@kajer@infosec.exchange Using tokens to please the boss?

@Plumbert@thecanadian.social @futurebird@sauropods.win @FranceskaMann@freeradical.zone @wdjorth@mastodon.online At this point? I predict we adults will find ourselves in a borken world, and the teens will begin developing a new, temporarily more functional one.

@munin@infosec.exchange I feel like the literal ONLY way he could recover at this point is indisputable proof of warewolves. And we both know that isn't happening.

@JessTheUnstill@infosec.exchange I blame inappropriately designed restrooms, but this may mostly be my feud with the unstalled urinal talking. What do you MEAN the expectation is that men pee in the open?! Should toilet areas not be granted adequate privacy?!?!

@whiskeyjack@infosec.exchange Honestly, give me a few billion and immunity from the law, and I bet I could get hackers to forcibly secure a lot of public utilities.

@Turret3857@infosec.pub @disorderly@lemmy.world And lack the power to reasonably respond when they are aware

@xabean@infosec.exchange Mods... or the account blocks anyone who talks to it/suggests its a bot?

@FranceskaMann@freeradical.zone @futurebird@sauropods.win @Plumbert@thecanadian.social @wdjorth@mastodon.online Yeah and you probably can't read Latin. People don't learn skills that they don't have regular exposure to.

@FranceskaMann@freeradical.zone @wdjorth@mastodon.online @futurebird@sauropods.win @Plumbert@thecanadian.social Okay, so unlucky specific language, but do you understand the point I'm tryign to make?

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Uhhhhhh can we tripple check that first sign? I don't know what language this is, but... it's reminding me of a woman's body which makes me doubt it means "international"

@ryanc@infosec.exchange @kajer@infosec.exchange so at 30w, a family of four can have one meal with toast per day, and at 60w they can have two meals with toast per day

@munin@infosec.exchange I wonder if it is at all connected to last week's "AI IS GOING TO END THE WORLD" announcement. Something along the lines of people are losing their ability to give a shit.

@fwaggle@moodoo.org @tomw@mastodon.social @0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange From what I understand, a lot of the anger comes from DDOSers using Cloudflare as protection.

@futurebird@sauropods.win Yeaaah... we tech people are not known for our social wisdom...

@xabean@infosec.exchange @ismaelwahid I am pretty sure. Going on an infosec community to preach about how Christians are oppressed? Not following anyone or ever bringing up Other Topics? Seems botty.

@bschorr@infosec.exchange @flipsels@mastodon.social Notably, neither you nor copilot considered updating the template such that the change would never need to be made in the first place.

@xabean@infosec.exchange hey did the account go empty for you as well?

@ryanc@infosec.exchange @kajer@infosec.exchange how long would it take to recharge this toaster? Given toasters in residential environments are used in bursts, it seems to me that the "Make or break" is whether it would be recharged before the next use.

Whether Hong Kong was part of China was a banned subject. It did not matter. Crow and Pumpkin were losing each other. I stopped playing not long after that.

@darkuncle@infosec.exchange Ever get any interesting insults that way?
