@Natanox@chaos.social I hope Galaxy becomes open source, but I don't see any reason to believe that will happen

@Heliograph@mastodon.au I think there is a ban on editing articles by the people the article is about. Only another photographer can suggest a change, right?

@signalapp It's a shame that stickers can't be edited (or new ones added) after publication

@signalapp Don't donations through the app mean that I give 30% to Google/Apple? You should create a nice page on the website, like Mastodon did https://joinmastodon.org/sponsors

@parisba@cloudisland.nz That's why I'm looking for open source alternatives to corporate software (which, unfortunately, is often more convenient and better).
It is a mistake to depend on the ecosystem

@TeflonTrout @liquor_american @mhoye No, every OS has built-in archivers. In addition, there are open source alternatives

@linuxmint@mastodon.social The system updated quickly and without any problems. Thank you.
By the way, could you verify your account on Mastodon? https://joinmastodon.org/verification

@ihor @signalapp I didn't know. I made my judgement based solely on this post.
But the page could be prettier and more user-friendly. I'm talking about this.

@Gargron@mastodon.social This is to be expected. The next attacks will probably be even bigger. I hope there are enough tools to neutralise spam in Mastodon

@Tutanota@mastodon.social The internet is part of life. Public social networks are public spaces
It is time for us to slowly put an end to information campaigns by autocracies such as Russia, which operate through anonymous accounts
You can force content from unverified users to be hidden by default or placed at the bottom.
It is also possible to require that people who choose not to verify their accounts are unable to view the content of unverified individuals.
I think something like that is quite balanced

@Tutanota@mastodon.social The real problem is data transfer and the privacy of the transferred data. I think that technically it is possible to come up with a smart solution that does not necessarily disclose absolutely everything about the user, but only, for example, their name and that they are "over 18 years old."

@Gargron@mastodon.social Sanctions against Russia (a terrorist country) are very weak. And Russia's circumvention of sanctions is ignored. If you want the same for the United States, that's strange

@Tutanota@mastodon.social I don't see any problem with people being public on public social networks. Everything you write publicly, you should be able to say to a police officer's face. It's simple.
Everything you write in private messages should have E2EE.
Anonymity, privacy, and security are different things
If your state persecutes people for criticism, then you have a problem with the state. You need to change the law, protect institutions from autocrats, populists, and radicals

@echedellelr@soc.masfloss.net They all use Bing/Google. Hopefully, this will change in the future. They are still planning to build something and need users. What difference does it make whether I use Bing/Google directly or through an intermediary?

@scottjenson@social.coop I'm not a developer, but thank you very much for the initiative. Poor design is a huge problem for open source projects, because few designers are willing to help for free (and when they do, developers are not willing to change things)
