Beta testers wanted: Score Reader, an accessible sheet-music reader for iPhone | AppleVis

Hi everyone, I'm Ashley, the blind developer behind Open Independence, and I'd like to invite you to beta test Score Reader, my accessible sheet-music reader for iPhone. The problem it tackles: printed and digital sheet music is almost entirely visual, so blind and low-vision musicians usually can't read a score independently - you wait for someone to transcribe or describe it. Score Reader imports MusicXML and compressed MXL files (plus simple PDF scores) and lets you move through the music wit

As a podcasting fan and enthusiast since its inception in the early 2000s, I've used a lot of podcasting apps. Most recently Downcast on MacOS and iOS. I loved the interface, the way that syncing between the Mac and the iPhone was flawless, and the configurability. However, unfortunately, it seems that Downcast is no-longer being actively maintained. There are bugs in the macOS version that make it impossible to get into the settings, iCloud syncing is broken, and there have been no updates for

Hi everyone, I'm a blind developer, and I've been frustrated for years with how I get around. Ok this is weird. In the last day or so suddenly half of my messages new or old are no longer showing me the contact details. Just the number they called from. So for example Had a message last week still in my messages app from John, Now john is showing as 071234567. Equally, if I go into the message it shows as locked and says share your name and photo and gives you the option to add the number to a new or existing contact. We care a lot about accessibility but I'm aware that our own testing can only go so far without a11y community input, so I'd appreciate real-world feedback from VoiceOver use

in prior versions of iOS, the search bar in applications usually appeared at the top of the screen and status at the bottom. Bad audio quality with Youtube TV | AppleVis

Do any of you have issues with audio description on iOS with YouTube TV? When I play recordings from CBS specifically, the audio goes to telephone quality. It's awful and I would love a fix if anyone has one. This happens on android as well, so I'm thinking it does this because of the way the secondary audio track is uploaded. I would love your suggestions on how to fix this.

How do I export saved recordings from OoTunes? | AppleVis

Hello, As some of you may be aware, I'm experiencing a plethora of issues with my iPhone 16 pro max, thus, I've called Apple Accessibility support & they recommended I restore my phone & setup as new. However, before I proceed, I have a number of recordings in the OoTunes app, which are in the "saved" section, which will be lost if I don't export them & I'd really rather not lose them. Does anyone on this fabulous site know how to export recordings from OoTunes & save them outside the app?
