They are extremely expensive for what they offer nowadays, at least if you live anywhere in California, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas. I’m assuming New York, Oregon, Seattle and any other states with local Mexican restaurants as well.

Canon cameras are the same for GPS data. Their app sucks and is barely functional that I don’t bother. Half of the time it would fail to connect or fail to transfer pictures from the camera to the phone. A USB-C to SD card adapter is 100% reliable. I hate technology sometimes.

Unfortunately it seems to be mostly for older DSLR cameras, mine is a newer entry level mirrorless. The project does seem pretty awesome though.

Had manager that wanted us to return error codes on a field of an API response along with an HTTP 200 because "errors bad". It needed a few of us to make him understand how that worked against common design patterns and you still had to handle error codes since you didn't know if the error would be coming from the app, web server, api gateway, local network (no internet), etc.

They also advertise on the bay area in the US by the highways one time we drove by. Although compared to all the AI garbage companies that promise the world on their billboards, it was generic "protect your privacy - mullvad VPN" and something like that. I only remember it because of the mascot.

As an alternative, we have found bulbs that can run tasmota with the MQTT integration to be perhaps the most reliable part of our smart home (as long as the hardware already had a descent CRI). I've heard good things about ESP home too, but we have not tried it. If someone has some light bulbs that are laggy (due to cloud integrations) or a pain to use due to software, its worth checking out of tasmota or esp home can be installed on them to locally pair with something like home assistant. It turned a regretful purchase into a nice addition. With that said, we don't buy connected devices any longer without checking internet and cloud requirements first.

I love blocking annoying accounts. Not interested in low quality creators that put out 3-4 long form content videos every week and 3 daily shorts.

I always thought of Macs as not a good value before, but nowadays for laptops at least they seem to be relatively good. I still find them annoyingly unintuitive, but that's probably due to lack of experience. At least they come with some (old) version of bash and support standard stuff like ssh out of the box from my understanding.
