If the Dems win both the House and the Senate in 2026, they won't be able to expand SCOTUS (filibuster + veto). But couldn't they cripple it?
Set the clerkship budget to $0. Set the ops budget so low it can only have a handful of hearings. Effectively shut down SCOTUS the way they did DHS this yr.

@johnpfaff.bsky.social I think it was Jamelle Bouie, about a month ago, who did a brief video about how congress could hobble SCOTUS and teach it a lesson. Move it back to the basement of congress, change the clerking system, stuff like that. Worth searching for it. Jamelle is great.
