I am now using the latest version of LibreOffice Calc and it feels like such an upgrade for me. I was using an older version installed via APT (v6.4.7) for so long, but then I noticed the latest version is on Snaps (yeah, I know). So I tried it and now the experience is suddenly so much smoother. Calc is my personal accouting app to keep tab on expenses and savings. It is not very high tech but it gets work done. I mostly keep tab on bill payments and avoid debt traps.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Could always switch to #plaintextaccounting and keeps your expenses/savings in #plaintext under version-control… 😉

@nixCraft@mastodon.social what distro had you on libreoffice-calc 6.4.7? Debian stable-security offers 25.2.3 and Debian Testing (and Unstable) offer 26.8.1.1. Ubuntu noble-security offers 24.2.7, noble-backports offers 26.2.5.2, and resolute-security offers 26.2.6.3. (I've got snapd at pin-priority -1 on my Ubuntu box, so that's definitely not a Snap.)
