i used to lift bags of shingles for a job, and did some concrete when doing renovations on my house. it **sucks ass** and will destroy your body. there's no glory in it, and it's **wonderful** if you can do something else for a job.

people on the internet like to talk about "the trades" like it's some kind of cool and fulfilling and well-paying job you can get As A Man. no no no, you're not thinking of the plumber, you're thinking of the guy who **owns the plumbing company** not the same thing!! the plumbers wish they went to college, because then their knees and backs would still work
