We need an end-to-end encrypted communications ecosystem that allows landline users to punch in a code on their phone pads to accept encrypted calls, provides real phone numbers and email addresses, as well as texting... Signal + ProtonMail, for example. Only Fediverse style. I dunno what I'm talking about here, lol! I just know I'm not OK with being asked for my phone number if I sign up for Signal, because none of that's encrypted. If Signal would verify using encrypted email instead, then that would really help. Not sure how that would work, but it would really help.
