@Tutanota@mastodon.social And while at writing mails to representatives to #KILLTHECOOKIEBANNER you might as well write them to kill #EUKidsAct and sign this initiative fighting against #EUKidsAct & #ChatControl 2.0: https://eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/#/screen/home

@Tutanota@mastodon.social Cookie banners != tracker cookies. If we "kill" the cookie banner, big tech can just now show the cookie banner and track you silently.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social @ethniccanuck@ohai.social kinda telling that cookies serve no purpose but to track people. Websites work fine without them.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social Done! I just sent out 16 emails or so, yesterday. That's definitely a new step on my responsible European citizen journey :)

@Tutanota@mastodon.social I never, ever click yes to anyone's consent banner. I then enforce my denial of consent with zero-whitelist adblocking, tracker blocking, and blocking of all unknown 3ed party tools and content. Usually the cookie banners don't even show as the code for showing them is not reached. When I see "please enable JS and turn off any adblocker" I close the tab. Every time. No exceptions.
