Wasted two hours trying to implement something just to end up realizing it's literally impossible to implement due to the code architecture. That is, multi-/tabbed buffer editing in narraverse.

narraverse's multi buffer editing is up in today's early morning commit. Still raw. Cycling between buffers is panic-prone. No buffer closing yet.

Stabilized multibuffers a bit in narraverse, including manually closing the current buffer (latter one was tricky). It's no longer panic-prone. Also, would like to remind I probably won't implement cross-verse buffers (i.e one buffer from one verse and another buffer from another) due to narraverse's architecture.

narraverse v0.4.0 released as a small convenience & patch update and has no breaking changes. Those will be introduced in the next update. View changelog at https://enmkdev.codeberg.page/projects/narraverse/#changelog Install/upgrade by running "cargo install --locked narraverse"

I couldn't help but notice someone's been PUSHING their repo on Codeberg. Every time I navigate to the Explore page, their repo is always there and always "updated now" so I dug into it. It has a monolithic main.rs file that's 3.1k lines long, latest commit literally lists Cursor as a co-author, obvious LLM patterns in the code itself, unit & integration tests for a BINARY. Cherries on top, 2021 edition in its Cargo.toml file, it has only 8 comm...

Currently refactoring narraverse's codebase to mitigate technical debt accumulated before it's too late.

Isn't Proton "privacy-first"? Or maybe I'm overthinking it.

How can you trust a "privacy focused" alternative when you don't even know what code is running in their servers?

#introduction After a very long break, I'm (finally) back on Mastodon. I'm gonna re-introduce myself: My name is Mark Zhou / EnmakaiDev. I'm a hobbyist developer and FOSS advocate who's been daily driving Linux since 2024. I make projects primarily with Rust, and for myself but still decide to share (some of) them with the world only to leave a mark (get it?) in internet's history and in case someone out there might find them useful. So far I've made fser (TUI EPUB r...
