@josch@floss.social I'm afraid the capture of #Debian will pass through similar insulting behaviours (such pushing LLM output on people who refuse it) that will alienate all politically aware developers. It's sad, but likely the goal of those who made this move. Maybe you might find some joy working on #NetBSD or even on #9front. Good luck! And thanks for fighting this fight.

Thank you @josch@floss.social for a well-written thread starter. I am glad it surfaced significant #Debian member resistance to this imposition of #AISlop on our (often volunteer) work. Also glad that there is a “work item” [0] for the team that began this, to change it so we don't have #LLMs imposed on our work. [0]: not linking to the work item because it's an internal discussion that should not be dogpiled. Just surfacing the fact so people know there's ongoing resistance and hope for improvement.

@josch@floss.social I agree this is not being done in the right way. I don't object to it as strongly as you do and I will keep doing Debian work as normal. But I think it should have been implemented in a different way and had more input into the process. An optional tool that developers can run before upload would be a better option. That would save the time of the DFSG team who have responded to some silly mistakes I've made...

@josch@floss.social I started my first #computer in 1983, thanks to my family it was a clone of an #appleII which was then banned out of the market . Then in 2000 the next big move (after #OS and several #windows on floppies) was #Mandrake, #Suse , #debian and finally #ubuntu as I got old and lazier. What is my alternative now...
