It has been a while, longer than I expected. I became very ill a couple of years ago and the road back has been slow. Recovery is not a straight line. It is a series of winters. 2024 was the hardest. Last winter was better. My hope is this one is better again. The practice has kept its shape through all of it, and I am back out in the woods. I write about this in more depth in my weekly letters, Serenity in the Woods: https://pages.timsmalley.co.uk #introduction #photography #trees #woodland

Serenity in the woods.

For photographers who sense there is more to the woods than the epic view. Years of returning to the same quiet woods, distilled into unhurried notes on seeing, composing and editing, and essays on why the making matters more than the picture.

…Tunick’s lawyers argued during the hearing last week that the seizure was unlawful, & that he was targeted because of his #political #activism against #Atlanta’s plan to build a police & fire training center within a 1,000-acre stretch of urban #woodland. Opponents argue that the center, known as #CopCity, would militarize officers & destroy precious #GreenSpace. #law #InfoSec #privacy

As I was strolling down the footpaths of my #Snoqualmie memories earlier, I thought I'd dedicate today's episode of #Farnsehen to that stunning area as well. 💚 #ferns #fern #Farn #Farne #fernstodon #fernsOnFriday #FarnFreitag #FernFriday #FernsFriday #ferniverse #nature #Natur #treeTrunk #ForestFriday #forest #Wald #woodland #ThickTrunkTuesday #treesOnTuesday #TreeTuesday #mosstodon #Moos #moss #stream #Bach #TwinFalls #Washington #PNW

Looking Out — Pocket Ireland

I spent the other morning exploring Tollymore Forest Park in County Down . This is the view from one of the arches of the Hermitage. It is a stone shelter built right into the side of the gorge back in the 1770s. James Hamilton, who was the second Earl of Clanbrassil, built this structure in memory

We're looking to buy a flail mower (slagleklipper, klepelmaaier) and found Deleks. Their products look decent and compared to others prices are even more so. It's a stretch but maybe someone has experience with them and is willing to share their opinion? https://www.deleks.dk/en/p/1173/flail-mower-smart-800 edit: We decided not to buy a flail mower. As to #Deleks specifically: quality appears "random". Mainly it's warranty service that would worry me as it is reported to be bad. #gardening #forestry #woodland #machines
