Following the Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico, Trump wants to rename New Mexico.
Many have suggested changing the name of New Mexico – one of the states where some of the worst electoral fraud ever occurred – to New America. It would be much more prestigious and beautiful for the residents of that potentially incredible state. I like it a lot! Writes this on Truth, US President Donald Trump.
Trump published an image of the state’s silhouette with the new name, just days after signing an executive order to rename Lake Ontario located along the border between the United States and Canada as “Lake America.” The image, published on his platform Truth and shared by the White House on X, shows the profile of the state with the word "Mexico" crossed out in red and replaced with "America." The photo is not contained other messages or graphic elements.
According to CNN, although Trump has the authority to rename geographic features within the Geographic Names System, he does not possess the constitutional power to legally change the names of states, as such a procedure should take place within the state itself. Trump has already used an executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico in “Gulf of America” on his return to office. He recently also suggested renaming the Strait of Hormuz as "Trump Strait."
