Same oil & gas... but for a much bigger bill.
EU countries have paid over US$113.5 BILLION EXTRA for energy imports since the war on Iran began.
Governments MUST protect people and speed up homegrown wind and solar.

Slashing the heat pump subsidy to fund the megapolluting arms industry is not only economically illiterate, it will decimate the nascent heat pump industry. Labour claims to want growth. The future is in renewables, not war.

Wind and solar helped the UK avoid US$7.8 BILLION in gas imports during the Hormuz crisis.
That’s what breaking fossil fuel dependence looks like.
Governments backing more oil and gas owe people an explanation.
SCALE UP RENEWABLES.

Trump’s threat to ban diesel exports exposed how easily more fuel could be poured on the fossilflation fire caused by the war on Iran, and that fire is hurting households around the globe.
If governments switched to decentralised renewable energy and clean transport, people wouldn’t have to deal with so much of this s**t

Oil spills from war are spreading towards coral reefs and mangroves in the Strait of Hormuz.
Fossil fuel dependence puts people, nature and economies in harm’s way.
To prevent future harm, we must end that dependence and build a future powered by clean, decentralised renewables.

“India’s power-sector emissions flat for two years due to clean-energy surge…
This is the first time in more than 50 years that there has been no growth in India’s coal power over a two-year period, even as electricity demand grew overall.”

No one should have to endure bombing, displacement, blackouts or soaring bills before governments recognise that modern, decentralised renewable energy systems offer greater security and stability.

If you are into renewable energy and offshore wind farms, you might find this blog post interesting. It's written in some heathen language full of mysterious diacritics, but at least there are photos:

If Nuclear can't function in a warmed world, and we have not acted fast enough to prevent that world, than it is not really a global warming solution.

For those that keep saying wind turbines can't be reused or recycled need to read this
"The analysis found a total 99.9% material recovery – calculating that 79.5% of the wind farm’s components were recycled and 20.4% were reused or retained as spare parts, keeping nearly all material out of landfills."
100% of the recycling and component retention took place in the UK, supporting domestic green jobs and at least 10 supply chain companies.

Europe's nuclear power is increasingly failing amid rising heat and droughts.
France’s nuclear fleet has already seen a record number of heat-related outages this summer. Low river Danube waters forced Romania to shut both its nuclear reactors. Hungary is next.
Isn’t it time they switch to wind and solar already?

🌱 The good environmental news from 2026, because the doom scrolling hides a lot.
April was the first month in history where wind and solar beat gas worldwide. Renewables overtook coal as the planet's biggest power source in 2025, and clean energy covered all of the new electricity demand that year.
The High Seas Treaty entered into force in January, putting real rules on the parts of the ocean outside any country's borders.
Wildlife is coming back too. Black rhinos returned to a Zimbabwe park more than 30 years after poaching wiped them out. Alpine bearded vultures passed 100 breeding pairs and are now self-sustaining. Hawaii's stilt was just downlisted from endangered after 50 years of work. Even a snail declared extinct in 1996 is back on Norfolk Island, 1,300 strong.
Cautious optimism is the honest take. Emissions are still way too high and too many species are still in trouble. But this year's wins are measurable, and they prove the fight is winnable.

This is not success.
It’s a system designed to funnel unimaginable wealth to fossil fuel corporations while the rest of us deal with soaring energy bills, extreme weather and the growing costs of the climate crisis.
They want us to believe there's no money for affordable energy, climate resilience, or a faster transition to renewables
There is money. It's sitting in corporate profit accounts
