Happy Bandcamp Friday! I am planning to release a new instrumental metal EP soon, but it's not ready yet. So instead, I figured I would talk about the history behind my existing discography. Also, I've decided to license all of my music under CC BY-SA 4.0! So if you like something I made, feel free to share it or incorporate it into your own work, provided you follow the license terms! My music be here: https://constancies.bandcamp.com #bandcampFriday #metal #musician #creativecommons

New post on the blog, wherein I try to describe how the most enjoyable part of being a musician may not necessarily be about the music. https://slidewielder.wordpress.com/2026/08/30/what-makes-a-musician-reflections-on-the-physicality-of-playing/ #music #musician #kinaestheticpleasure

What makes a musician? Reflections on the physicality of playing

People always talk about how musicians (and other artists, and, for that matter, athletes) are “talented,” a term I have come to loathe, since this one word essentially negates the asto…

“My personal favourite off Self Talk. Inspired by Larry Walters, the man who flew, and the documentary All This Mayhem, which broke my heart. 4am sessions with Burke Reid, digging and pushing for the strangest vocal melodies we could think of, acting as some unhinged weather reporter with Alex Smith - both people I remain endlessly indebted to for their vision (and, in Burke's case, probably the reason I'm known for endless vocal takes - and why my new work isn't ready yet). On this track I discovered and fell in love with vintage #synthesisers, thanks to another #musician who shared their collection with us - so elated to find Burke and I in the studio with four vintage #DrumMachines stacked on top of one another. Sadly, that collection was sold for peanuts on Gumtree years later (and not on police auctions which you may have signed up to) due to a prison stint (not mine). So many stories behind this #record that are hard to share- some personal, some criminal, some purely musical. Looking back I feel so lucky this record came into existence despite all of it and I wish our #AI overlords best of luck thinking something like this up” — Olivia Bartley The ten year release date of Olynpia’s album, “Self Talk”. But another reason I buy vinyl and support local musicians. #SelfTalk / #Olympia / #OzMusic / #Melbourne

Hey! 👋 First post here. I'm Carmelo, a musician & photographer. Here to share my work AND discover new things. I use Windows + Linux (Zorin OS for ~1 year). For creative work, I try to stick with open-source software whenever possible: GIMP, Darktable, Krita for photos/images. Recently testing Neural Amp Modeler for guitar. Looking forward to chatting about these topics—and more—with anyone interested! Thanks! 🙏 #introduction #musician #photographer #Linux #OpenSource

I’ve been running silent for a little while … but I haven’t been idle. I’d like to announce an ambitious project: over the next year-and-a-half to two years, I’m planning to compose and perform – for commercial release and distribution – a collection of immersive audio pieces I’m calling *Inexplicabilities*. (Please forgive the blatant self-promotion … this is my baybay!) I’ve got the beginnings of a web site up; here it is: https://inexplicabilities.com #music #inexplicabilities #DolbyAtmos #immersiveaudio #spatialaudio #surround #synthesizers #composer #musician
