After three weeks of protest camps in the squares of Spain, the protesters have consistently maintained a cheerful and peaceful attitude in the different spanish squares. This is despite frequent threats of violence from Nazi groups. The protesters have formed protective cordons to safeguard the camp and the other protesters. MariCarmen is the most common female name for several generations of Spanish women. Our mothers and grandmothers are called MariCarmen. That is why the eviction this week of an elderly lady with that name, coupled with decades of housing injustice, has been the last straw.
