Made a GNOME extension that puts a now playing equalizer in the top bar. Click it and you get a card with the cover, a seek bar and controls. Works with any MPRIS player: Spotify, Firefox, mpv, Flatpak apps. The bars can be swapped for a real spectrum analyzer that reacts to the audio (PipeWire). That's the part I'm most happy with. Can also live in Quick Settings. GNOME 45 to 51. https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/10736/now-playing-card/ https://github.com/epogonii/nowpla...

@lazyb0y fancy name for "sysadmin who also writes the CI pipelines and too much YAML" ๐Ÿ˜„

Got tired of Jenkins burning my eyes at night, so I made a Dracula theme for it. It's on the Jenkins plugin site now, so you can install it right from the plugin manager. There's the dark one, Alucard (the light variant) and a System option that follows your OS. It only sets the Jenkins design tokens, so Pipeline Graph View and other plugins built on them pick up the colors without extra CSS. https://plugins.jenkins.io/dracula-theme/ https://github.com/jenkinsci/dracula-theme-p...

Every company has that one server nobody dares to reboot. 1400 days of uptime, nobody remembers what it does, and the guy who set it up left in 2019. #DevOps #SysAdmin #Linux

Wired shouldideploy.today into our Jenkins deploy notifications. Telegram messages used to say "deployed". Now on Fridays and weekends they come with threats. We deploy anyway. Think of it as a disclaimer for the postmortem. https://shouldideploy.today #Jenkins #DevOps #OnCall #Linux

Made Wisp, a GNOME extension that puts snapper snapshots in the top bar. See every snapshot, take one, delete the junk. Open one to see what changed, restore single files or roll the whole system back. Anything that needs root goes through a small polkit helper, packaged for Fedora and openSUSE. GNOME 46 to 51. https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/10755/wisp/ https://github.com/epogonii/wisp https://thelinuxnotes.com/wisp-snapper-snapshots-gnome-shell-extension/ #GNOME #Linux #btrfs #openS...

Now Playing Card 1.0.12 is out for GNOME Shell 45โ€“51 ๐ŸŽต An animated equalizer in the top panel and a media card for any MPRIS player: cover art, a seekable progress bar, transport controls. Spotify, browsers, VLC, Flatpak or Snap, nothing to configure. New: Ribbon, a spectrum shape that swells with the music, and rounded ends for the columns. Hi Mastodon! I'm a DevOps engineer, mostly Kubernetes, Jenkins and a lot of Linux boxes. In my spare time I make small open source things that I will share here. I also write notes at https://thelinuxnotes.com https://github.com/epogonii #introduction #Linux #DevOps #GNOME #OpenSource
