  I am invisible or uninteresting (or both). But those are very different problems. How do I tell?

  Though come to think of it, uninteresting is probably the wrong word. Or I’m already burying myself in an impossible niche by valuing interestingness. I don’t know or understand what people are looking for but I don’t think that’s it (generally). I don’t even know if that’s what I’m looking for. Not everyone I follow is interesting.

  Maybe I just need to post a picture of a cat? I like cats. But a picture of a cat can usually be replaced with the word cat without significant loss of content. (A picture is worth 1 word?) My cat is special to me but not to some random stranger, who looks at my cat and just sees a cat, rather than a whole personality, series of stories, etc.

  Ok, so I can still log in. Nifty! But I have to use the website. If I try using the app, it rejects me and asks if I'm blocking cookies, but there aren't any cookie settings for the app in settings. So that's kind of useless.

  Let’s see what happens if I try to write a post with this app. It turns out that logging in requires changing *Safari* preferences to not just accept cookies but also allow cross site tracking! Safari isn’t even my default browser ffs. Ok that’s enough. Does posting work…?

  When the poll worker signed me in to vote she gave me a credit card sized piece of paper with some numbers on it and said: You don’t need it but we’re required to give it to you. I still have it.
