I love #tinypilot, but their new AI API comes with a subscription plan. I don't get it, it is not a SaaS product. It is an on device api service. What justifies an ongoing subscription? And all this over something which can anyways be automated by playwright?

RE: https://wikis.world/@legoktm/116410420599243242 i used to find the concept of jury of the people odd at some point. And while it has its issues, it would have been the only tool people have in their possession in countries like (cough cough) where the entire judicial system is (cough) "broken" all the way to the top.

Oh man. I didn't use the app for a few weeks, and it seems that #booklore is already dead and I missed all the drama. https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/1rs275q/psa_think_hard_before_you_deploy_booklore/ Just when I was liking the self hosted comics reader etc. Anyways I hope the migration to https://grimmory.org/ would be a drop in replacement. #grimmory

The #Unfamiliar German TV series on #Netflix was really good. Really smart take on an otherwise spy thriller. Wasn't prepared for such a cliffhanger though. Now will have to wait another year? 😭

Whoa to the latest claude code version. "Changed the CLI to spawn a native #ClaudeCode binary (via a per-platform optional dependency) instead of bundled JavaScript" Are they finally moving off typescript?

ffs #AppleWatch, stop telling me I am about to go deaf because I used a hand dryer. I can’t believe they still can’t detect it yet

Fml, I had to migrate from an old #MacBook to a new one using thunderbolt. As per all docs, I disabled #Bluetooth and WiFi to force it to thunderbolt cable and it didn’t work no matter what I tried, and used a crappy p2p connection instead So I gave up and let them find themselves over the faster wifi. And *now* #migrationassistant discovered the long lost #thunderbolt cable (3gbps) 🤦🏻‍♂️

#GithubCopilot finally cracked down on their users. https://github.blog/news-insights/company-news/changes-to-github-copilot-individual-plans/ TLDR: 1. Signups for all plans are paused while they stabilize 2. Opus models only available at highest tier. 3. Only Opus 4.7 available in highest tier 4. HUGE: billing now moves to weekly/daily limits like other providers. But removing "affordable" Opus 4.5/4.6 for 4.7 for highest tier seems bad, given how 4.7 uses about 50% more to...

Tip: If your #ClaudeCode token usage is burning up your quota but you still want to use Opus, Opus 4.6 uses much less tokens than 4.7 but is still pretty good. Use this to start a new session: claude --model "claude-opus-4-6[1m]" Or this to switch in the middle of a session: /model claude-opus-4-6[1m] #ai

New #viral #chatgpt image generation prompt going around - drawing in terrible MS Paint form. Tried out my profile photo. Yuck. https://x.com/chatgptapp/status/2049942772803891376 (prompt in ALT text) #ai

I was slightly annoyed when my github issue in the #Pi repo was closed within minutes as part of their anti-clanker protection. Was relieved when it was reopened manually the next day and accepted. I know the devs are competent enough, and so are their tight circle of contributors, but sad to see this as the future of opensource contributions as bug reports. In every repo you are deemed unworthy till a human has the time to review your contribution.

For people on #ChatGPT Plus plans(~$20), stick to 5.4 instead of 5.5 to make your accounts run twice as long. I asked ChatGPT to do a cost benefit comparison and this is what it came up with. #AI #openai #OpenAICodex
