@darnell It seems like the easiest thing to do is to talk about Trump’s tariff plans. That alone will be devastating for a recovering economy. Though I did see a toot last night that noted most the polling data cooking out is right leaning from the Trump campaign and things are better than they appear with Harris up 4 PA. We shall see.

@frameworkcomputer and give @matthartley a follow if you want the nerdy details of building it. :)

I know it’s dawn at my house because I can hear the pitter patter of squirrel paws on the roof. We have a fence, two trees, and utility lines all coming together at our house to make a squirrel super highway.

Great article on digital ID and their security/privacy tradeoffs. There was a time where I really wanted a digital ID. They plus ubiquitous tap to pay meant I didn’t need to carry a wallet. But given today’s digital state I’m less interested in this. https://mastodon.social/@eff/113300916177639916

@davatron5000 I’d suggest not a new house but a mid-century house that has been fully updated. It seems like modern houses have far too many corners cut and don’t age all that well. My house built in 1961 has aged extremely well. I’ve read plenty of stories where new construction doesn’t hold up much past the builder warranty.

@carnage4life My aging knees are all about this. But my wallet wants them to knock 95% off that price tag first.

@rodhilton Right? It’s also possible that the Trump campaign is pushing a bunch of right leaning polls to try and demoralize and energized voting base for Harris.

@dangillmor The Mozilla of today is the not Mozilla of yor. They have begun sacrificing privacy for ‘safe ad tech’ which does not exist. If you want privacy use something like Vivaldi or Brave.

@matthiasott Right? Here in the states we get to add the whole being coin flip away from a facist that will do more to push the planet over the tipping point than anyone before him.

@zackwhittaker Companies like NPD simply should not exist.

@claralistensprechen3rd@friendica.myportal.social @rodhilton Sadly they usually just suck it up and blame other people. He’s had multiple campaign stops where he abandoned his constituents in a field nowhere near their transportation. In this instance it seems they were already questioning if it was the mayors fault. 🙄
