    Israel was never going to allow Palestinians back to their own land, from which they&#39;d been ethnically cleansed. Everyone with a brain knew that, but well-meaning politicians allowed their desire for the status quo to overcome their reason. Instead of challenging Israel they believed the convenient lies.
