I'm a sucker for the start of the fall, the last days of summer, and September. You feel sad for the summer that is gone and you recall what you did during your vacation. At the same time you wonder what the new work / school year will bring, it's a threshold of sorts. It's still warm-ish outside and mostly dry, and looking at the leaves fall is such a gorgeous sight. I could do without the ass end of fall though. But I guess those miserable times make the other times l...

@mairin As one of the moderators of a popular Discord server, it would be nice if we could allow posts in all languages, but sadly we don't have moderators that understand those languages, so I understand the decision that Fosstodon has taken. But I've also thought about moving to my own instance to be able to post in Finnish. I already installed Firefish on a Raspberry Pi, but the summer holiday got in the way of things. I think I'll continue soon, though.

Our first apples ever. I'm so chuffed! :blobcathappy: Gonna make some apple jam or possibly apple-rhubarb pie, not sure yet. Not even sure if these are the right kind for jam but we'll see! We have a "family apple tree" with 3 different varieties in one tree, but only one of the branches bore fruit. :D The rest are still just chilling, maybe next year. #gardening

I borrowed some books from the library. Now I owe the library 1 €, because I forgot to renew the loans on time. Every time! 🤦 😅

One feature I'd like in @Vivaldi desktop: force all PDFs to always open in the browser PDF viewer, never allow a site to download a PDF. Because I basically never want to download PDFs. Would be also great if you could view PDFs in Vivaldi on Android instead of downloading them all to your phone first. My phone download folder is full of PDFs viewed once and then left lingering.

Trying to install #Firefish but when I try the initial migration I get lots of "AggregateError" with no additional text, and then finally 'MaxRetriesPerRequestError: Reached the max retries per request limit (which is 20).' My PostgreSQL is configured to have max 100 connections, the migration only seems to open one.

Proof: I am @nicd@social.ahlcode.fi I'm trying out #Firefish with an aim to move to that self-hosted instance. Mainly so that I can post in Finnish. So far it looks good, but I will test for a while before doing the migration. @codestats will migrate then too. Firefish is looking quite polished thus far!
