I thought #AI was supposed to cure cancer, fix the climate crisis, and free us from labor so we can spend our time on art and science and philosophy. That does not seem to be what's happening.

Remember when Google's moto was "Don't be evil". Yeah. This has been a reminder to California voters: Vote YES on #prop40 and NO on propositions 41 & 42. #TaxTheRich

Client: Why is my new website loading so slow? Me: Hmm, this 50MB background video that must load before rendering the page might be an issue. Also the 32 WP plugins might be causing some bloat. And oh look, you have 76 css files loading on every page too. Should I go on? I remember when web dev was all about optimization. Heck, we were excited for 56k modems. Optimiztion was key. Not so much any more. #hosting #wordpress
