@smellsofbikes I have a 1985 GTV (the 2.0 version) in a barn outisde Oslo (in Norway). It’s been ten years since i properly drove it. Now I’ve moved to Denmark and renting a house with a garage and contemplating whether it’s worth the hassle to move it across the border. It is a great drive.

@smellsofbikes That’s a good point. Not sure if I’ll stay in Denmark though - two years left on a postdoc position. Drove to Paris and back once - a great drive even if it was mostly autobahn.

@danhon I think the best twitter post I ever did was - with an appropriate accompanying image - “the sky was the color of a dead pixel”. Nobody liked it. I guess people these days don’t remember dead pixels either.

@ShaulaEvans @academicchatter @academicsunite @academiccommunity @inquiline@union.place Could not find it online - but I believe that Terje Colbjørsens PhD thesis contains the line “More Research is needed, prefereably by me”. https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0,5&cluster=4777481621954978024

@LRRRonEarth @theplaguedoc It definetely gets easier. Your problem is that three years ago you where approaching the first “somewhat easier” phase - and then you reset the clock and engaged super hard mode by getting kid number two. (Speaking as someone who first was a part-time single father to a boy who is currently 21, and now have two boys at 10 and 8 at home).

@oysteib @kgjengedal Her må folk ta grep, og gi lyd. Så vi kan få en lang tråd.

Whenever the Moutain Goats have a «name-your-price» sale on Bandcamp I buy everything they’ve relased that I don’t allready own for a dollar a piece. Which makes me feel a bit awful because that is way to cheap - but on the other hand is probably more than I’ve spent on any other artist this last decade. Today I felt like a #digitalhumanities scholar for the first time (and not just a humantites guy with access to spreadsheet software). I was scraping a film festival site with archives going back to the 80s - and realized there was quite consistently a «format» listed. Which could be used to examine the transition from 35 and 16mm film to DCPs via various short(er) lived digital formats.
