WARNING! Android users of Nova Launcher, DO NOT upgrade to the latest version! They have switched over to a subscription model without warning. Even if you bought Nova Prime in the past, that is completely ignored. There is NO FREE VERSION any more. DO NOT UPGRADE!!! I'm lucky I was able to figure out how to get to Settings from the Notifications bar, switch to the default launcher, and uninstall Nova, otherwise my phone would have been bricked unless I bowed down to their extortion de...

WHOA! AO3 is down! Which wouldn't be that alarming if it were down for 24 hours, but they are saying it will be down for 2-4 WEEKS! Which is unheard-of! The OTW has NOT said anything about what the cause is. There has been, of course, massive speculation, along the lines of guesses being reported as fact; for example, that it has something to do with the PHP security problems recently -- but AO3 does not actually run on PHP, it runs on Ruby on Rails, which is a different language altoge...

#3GoodThings @3goodthings@fedigroups.social Three good things this day. 1. I managed to put the rubbish out while it was still daylight. 2. While I was putting the rubbish out, I checked the mailbox, not expecting anything to be there, but there was! It had probably been delivered late on Friday. The parcel turned out to be the rainbow-steel watchband I'd ordered, which had been delayed. It was tricky adjusting the band, but I am now wearing it and it is Very Pretty. The dominant colour is...

(Like, the watch face which is Always Correct... because what it displays is the word "Now") "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is...

I am sniggering at what Coles have put into their "Health & Dietary" category. It looks like it is completely random, because they certainly have a lot of things there which could not be classified as either healthy or dietary (or allergen-free): - Vanilla Ice Cream - Sour Cream - Thickened Cream - Instant Coffee - Cheese slices - Banana Loaf - Instant Noodles - Chocolate Chip Cookies - Bread Rolls They do have other things which do fit, such as gluten-free, sugar substitutes etc...

Looking at fanfic just now, I've realised there are two things in summaries which are an instant "skip this fanfic": 1. MCU fanfic where the author does not know the difference between "rogue" and "rouge". 2. Harry Potter (crossover or AU) fic in which Harry is renamed to something exotic, such as "Hadrian", "Hardin", "Harina" etc. This is a sure sign of a canon!Sue. I don't object to renaming as such -- you need to rename if...

I can has a pebble watch! !!!!! It arrived sooner than I expected. I have just spent hours exploring, wondering what apps and watchfaces to install. I'm still not entirely sure what I need and how it all fits together. I've installed Gravel, which is a FOSS app for interacting with a pebble (no account needed) and also installed GadgetBridge, though I'm not sure that I need both of them. I think I'm heading into information overload territory, so I'm going to take a break....
