A) When you hear "small business", how big is the business that comes to mind first? (real or imagined) B) What is the largest size business that you would consider a "small business" (personally)?

Over the weekend I was testing out Linux support for tablets. I tested using an old Microsoft Surface Book 2 we have at home. It worked pretty well! It's really cool to see a tablet with a full OS. KDE Plasma (via Fedora) had much better tablet support than Cosmic (via Pop OS)

I switch my Apple keyboard and trackpad between two computers all the time -- my personal and work computer. Normally I use a cable to re-pair them, that's quick. But when I don't have a cable, I've been SO stuck, I just can't use the keyboard/trackpad... Today I learned a trick!! Toggling power off and on a bunch! (5 times?) That will force the keyboard to show up for Bluetooth pairing (without a cable) https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255600135?sortBy=ra...

What makes some community groups more "community" than others? And how can we encourage, train, and support groups to prioritize those things? For my Community Leadership grad program (UMBC) I'm planning an independent study on that question ^ 1. Do you have any resources, references, book, blog posts, or ideas you could share around this topic? 2. Do you know any people I should follow and/or talk to? (boosts appreciated!)

For two years I've been hosting a few apps on Digital Ocean, managed by Yunohost. It was great experience overall! I'm so thankful for the management layer Yunohost provided. It feels very tenable to host a TON of open source software in this way BUT with the recent PHP issue I'm shutting it down. I could probably do this for a client, but I don't have the bandwidth to be a great sysadmin for myself 😅 e.g. "the cobbler's kids have no shoes&amp...

To push back against AI slop, I’m working on a way to comment that’s clearly anti-AI but also encouraging and supportive. Here’s my best shot so far, I commented this on a LinkedIn post. “I’m interested in the premise of this article. I think there probably are several stages we could define! Unfortunately I found it too difficult to get through— the structure and tone is very robotic, almost as if a computer wrote it 😅 I’d be interested in trying to read it again if you were to write this i...
