Why aren't trade unions promoting the green transformation more? A trade union leader explains: »But you have to understand, the union also has members who work at the airline.« Now we have a problem: if many people's income depends on doing the jobs they already have, then transforming our society becomes difficult. Thus, it follows: Basic Income is a precondition for a social and ecological transformation of our society. #basicincome #ubi #eciubi2027

A Post-Work Futre only works with Basic Income. AI develops faster then most people think. The complexity of tasks that can be completed by AI doubles every 3 to 7 month. If our labour is no longer needed, we need to »decouple our livelihoods from the ability to sell our labour power« (quote from our ECI). 29 September 2026 13:00-16:30 we have a slot at the »Post-work futures in the EU and beyond: Grounding digital transformation in lived experience« in Brussels where we can present our ECI....

More than 50% of work is not paid at all - mostly in household and care. This work receives no financial compensation. While women already earn 12% less than men when it comes to paid labor, if unpaid labor is factored in, the real pay gap widens dramatically: women earn 45% less than men. Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) would help immensely here. #genderpaygap #basicincome #UBI #eciubi2027 https://wid.world/document/global-labour-hours-in-paid-and-unpaid-work-inequality-productivity-and-st...

»The demand for a guaranteed basic income fundamentally points to the necessity of a different economy, to the end of money fetishism and market society.
