  #3goodthings 1. Occasional visits to heated greenhouses to see exotic plants that are to me really fascinating. 2. The camper van is back from its first round of repairs. The sliding door needed adjustment to stop rain water entering, the back window in the boot lid needed major work due to rust. Now it's off for round two, a health check of all systems. 3. Seeing a friend today to go shopping. Good to see my friend also I don't usually do town shopping very often so this will be interes...

  #3goodthings 1. Autumn colours. 2. Today the weather is more settled, the best sort of day for admiring the trees in their autumn finery. 3. Got a pneumonia vaccination. It's been over 10 years since I had one, so it was due. My reminder came from a note of the date of the previous vaccination and I came across it when doing a drawer clear out. It's definitely a good thing to tidy up now and again.

  #3goodthings 1. The black and white cat behaved impeccably at the Vet's. I'm not sure if this is a good or a not so good thing. 2. The Vet does not think that the couple of seizures that he's had are a sign of anything too serious. His blood pressure was rather high so he has to go back to the Vet in a week or two to have it checked again. He is his normal cheeky self, and hopefully the fits won't occur again. 3. I am up to date on household chores.

  #3goodthings 1. The strong wind is blowing copper and gold coloured leaves around. This makes Fluffy dog deliriously happy, leaf chasing is her Autumn obsession. 2. We missed the worst of the two storms. 3. A quiet day without anything that has to be done.

  #3goodthings 1. I had lots of help to make the Christmas cake which is now in its storage tin. Family tradition is to have the cake made by the end of October so that it has plenty of time to mature. 2. No damage from either of the two storms. 3. The Bramley cooking apples have fruited quite well after being pruned last winter. The fruit is larger if less numerous.

  #3goodthings 1. Crimson Glory Vine. Literally over the top, but beautiful. The leaves are like big red velvet hearts. 2. Saw a vivid blue flash at the pond and a kingfisher perched in a near by tree. It's been about 20 years since I last saw one of these dazzling birds, so this was a big treat. 3. The parcel that failed to arrive yesterday did arrive today.

  #3goodthings 1. My neighbour who was happy to 'look after' our car on her drive while large machines filled our car parking space. It makes life so much better when you have a really nice neighbour. 2. First round of repairs for the old VW van tomorrow. 3. Husband finished off the lawn mowing. It's been left long for wildlife, but it needs a tidy up for winter, otherwise Fluffy dog will get soaked by wet grass. Now she can bounce a ball again.

  #3goodthings 1. I had the last procedure yesterday. Biopsy results showed all samples from the first procedure were benign. So all good news after a few weeks of worry. 2. The outside workmen finished today! All land drains are in working order; the field has been cut and sown with wildflowers; fencing is repaired or replaced. It will mean our area will be a good wildlife haven, much needed as we are in the middle of arable land that's regularly sprayed. 3. We are still picking outdoor tomat...

  #3goodthings 1. Had the covid vaccination today. 2. Managed to save time by doing 3 jobs in town. 2. One of those jobs was the covid vaccination.. 3. Did a little gardening when home.

  #3goodthings 1. A flock of geese flew over honking to each other as they went. 2. A dry day to empty the stuff from the camper van. 3. I feel things are on the way to getting more organised. Hopefully it's my last hospital procedure on Friday; the field work is well underway but workers didn't turn up today, I guess they will sooner or later; all house jobs are finished, indoor workers gone, and the furniture is back in the right place; the van is starting on it's repair sessions.

  #3goodthings 1. Just picked the last of the tomatoes. These are the green ones so I've frozen them to make green tomato chutney in a week or two. 2. My neighbour who has let us park in her drive when workmen and tractors have been here, there, and everywhere. 3. A quiet day today, the workmen didn't turn up at all.

  #3goodthings 1. Outdoor workmen worked over the weekend which was good, they are trying hard and doing a good job. Sadly they're still not finished. 2. Enjoyed a short visit to a gardening event today. 3. The son of a friend is doing very well after a recent kidney transplant. He is making good progress.

  #3goodthings 1. The outside workmen were still working in the dark at 7.30pm last night. Hoping they finish today. They missed 3 days this week so they are trying to make up time. 2. No complaints (yet) from the neighbours about the workmen's loud bumping noises. 3. The cats like their tractor. Great for hide and seek and ambushes.

  #3goodthings 1. Fluffy dog. She has behaved like a little princess this holiday, and it's not been easy for her (or us) as the van broke down. 2. I have a recovery lorry lined up if the third mechanic's attempts to repair the fault fails! 3. We have a hire car now. We saw the world's prettiest lighthouse today.

  #3goodthings 1. Power cut planned for tomorrow so we are having lunch out. 2. Exercised in water today. This really helps the lower back. 3. The two cats are peaceful. One is still a bit lame after the hunt incident, but the Vet is happy that his muscle strain will soon clear up.
