Weird scammy auto-translated question came in through my website asking if I'm 100% human and my brain can't stop chewing on it. Today I'm 98% human, roughly 1% pancakes, 0.5% coffee and 0.5% existential dread. How human are you today?

#PennedPossibilities 1169: Your MC is dead and haunting you. Where and how do they show up? Freya is a witchy alchemist. The most alchemical themed space in my home is my funky jar-adorned kitchen. She'd be popping up telling me exactly how much eye of newt I should be adding to my cornflakes. #witch

Anyone want to help me think of spooky labels for my kitchen? Famously "eye of newt" is mustard seed so just to continue this tradition of adding gross/spooky names to things: - Goblin’s teeth = cloves - Fairy nails = fennel seed - Spectre’s breath = mint - Ogre dandruff = sesame seeds - The hag’s curled scab = a cinnamon stick It's such a fun way to keep a family recipe a secret. #halloween #witch #cooking #fedicoven

Daily irk: Accidentally wandered onto LinkedIn. Spotted someone claiming that only the rich and the poor have leisure time and that the working-class is the only one who doesn't. Nearly chucked my desktop out of the window. I've honestly never met a poor person who wasn't working their ass off. Should I really tell my widowed friend raising three kids while working two jobs that she's so lucky to have such leisure time? Fedi can be an odd bubble, but nothing compa...

Blessed #Samhain #FediCoven ! Q17 How are you welcoming the dark time of year? I'm doing a nice simmer pot and will take time to honour my beloved dead. I've got a new notebook for that purpose and will be writing their names and what they mean to me as a Book or Remembrance. I'll spruce up the altar, and do a bit of cleaning before we do a silent supper, and then it's silly vintage horror movie night. #witch #pagan #halloween #paganism

Yay, #Portfolioday ! Always love this fediart showcase. It's such a good occasion to hunt for some lovely fellow artists to follow. Best way to cure AI slop nausea. So, hi! I'm Lydia. I make witchy spooky vintage style goth things, and I am illustrating my own novels. Mostly it's a manifestation of overthinking philosophical, symbolic things. Like this idea of the serenity of death. Also, I thought I'd toy with a bit of art Nouveau and bam!, tarot card. But I'm not mad at i...

My other half calls it moss-yoga when I’m contorting, bending, crawling, and balancing through the branches to do some macro photography on yet another delightfully pretty bit of fungi or fluff. And I can only recommend it. You might find a tiny snail in your hair when you get home, but you’ll have journeyed to a a magical tiny realm that is so much more serene than our own. #Mosstodon #lichensubscribe #macrophotography #nature #moss #fungi

Random bit of quirky cloud romance: We were on opposite sides of the city, looked up, spotted the same cloud, and took a nearly identical photo to show each other when we got home. 💜☁️ #clouds #photography

@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space I try to avoid going to chain stores, or shopping in the city here at all, but the smaller shops are vanishing fast. Perhaps I'll try a shopping trip to Germany. Any city you would particularly recommend in this regard?

Lost an argument with a sweet potato. Me: You’re food now. Potato: No, I am plant. Me: Well you were a pretty plant, but you’re food now. Potato: No, I am plant. Me: Okay, now you’re compost. Potato: No, I am plant! Fine! #plants #gardening

While I find the story of The Craft more entertaining, the way the magic is portrayed in Practical Magic is so much more charming and recognizable. For example, they actually call to Hekate for aid in one of the spells. In a weird way, it's basically a rather blunt request for something, which, in my experience, isn't the way she rolls. While The Craft invented a sort of meta god 2.0 in a fictional deity called Manon. I know, I know, it's comparing fictional apples... but it's a...

The world is… well… yeah… so, please delight at the sight of my little ladybug friend. We had a bit of an aphid problem some years ago, so I planted some fennel to attract these buddies. Now they’re all over the place. #bugs #nature

@Emmacox that’s so sweet! I like to think of them as my little cherry tree protection army. You can apparently also buy them for that purpose, but I didn’t like the idea of little ladybugs trapped in a box for days to get here. So, I’m glad the fennel worked out. Though, I must admit I liked the idea of opening the box in the garden, laughing maniacally, proclaiming “Fly! My pretties!”
