The 64-Bit Edition of Practical Compiler Construction is out now! http://t3x.org/reload64/ The image shows my proof copy, which arrived in the mail today. The book contains some minimal compiler construction theory and lots of code. If you always wanted to know how a compiler works internally, this book is for you! Unlike previous editions, this one targets Linux on the x86_64. Of course the book is completely AI-free! #compiler #books #linux #NoAI

Not sure if I want to know what's in there, but then I don't want to not know, either

Anybody here who knows anything about book marketing? I mean real marketing, not writing a blurb and setting up a blog. I know how to do that. Where do you send your blurb? Where do you announce your book? Where do you send review copies? Are there any book sales reps who work for independent authors? What else am I missing? Anyone? #fedihelp #marketing #books

Dear web publishers, when I can't reject all tracking within five seconds, I just won't read your article. Goodbye.

I have translated (with some liberties) my 1987 short novel Star Tramp. It features a simple-minded, action-packed plot and a pretty unlikable main character. Most people who read it did not enjoy it (but some did). I may or may not (re)publish it this year.

@Natasha_Jay So the jobs of the VP and CFO were useless to begin with? I'm not surprised.

I have recently been told that a previous employer had found me to be complicated, difficult, and hard to work with. What a pleasant surprise! Being considered a good fit for the corporate world would really have saddened my heart.

    Can we please fast-forward to a post-AI, post-billionaires, post-surveillance, post-war age?
