I have/had ADHD and when they allowed phones/pdas with notes and reminder apps for the first time, i finally started remembering what was assigned for homework. paper planners simply didn’t work for me.

So you get a permissions slip to say you can use one. They cause far more upset and disturbance both in lessons and at break/lunch to allow their unregulated use. The fallout for fights staged for snapchat is far more time consumng for staff than administering/policing special cases.
