@me_valentijn@m.ai6yr.org @ilumium@eupolicy.social Thanks for your feedback, that's an interesting point and important, too. On the other hand, how would it help your country if we at Tuta decide not to use AI? Personally, I think we as societies must have these discussions and must solve this via political influence.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social @ilumium@eupolicy.social The Dutch government failing to do its part doesn't excuse corporations from failing to do their part. Don't contribute to the problem.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social @me_valentijn@m.ai6yr.org @ilumium@eupolicy.social I would be interested to know if Tuta is using local FOSS LLMs that they have control over or cloud based tools from the big players over which they have no control. For me this is also a digital sovereignty issue that needs to be addressed by any European company offering "secure" cloud services. If there are parts of your tool chain over which you have no control, how can you be sure that your product will always remain secure?

  • @Tutanota@mastodon.social @me_valentijn@m.ai6yr.org @ilumium@eupolicy.social I think there isn't a good reason to only pick one way to go at resolving an issue. Government movements are more effective than social movements, but that doesn't make social movements ineffective. You thinking that it should be resolved politically shouldn't stop you from wanting to help wherever you can, and reducing demand would help. This move would be you joining the various brands saying "Please regulate us!!". The government regulation would probably be an intervention on how companies use AI in the first place. Would you rather be in the position where you don't need to shift away from AI come the regulation you're talking about, or would you rather be in the same position your competitors would be in?

@Tutanota@mastodon.social Once again, in the interest of your public relations. Stop posting half thought out takes and organize an internal PR crisis meeting. You are damaging yourself in plain sight.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social @me_valentijn@m.ai6yr.org @ilumium@eupolicy.social If I use Tuta and most people I email use Gmail, most of my emails are still not private. What's needed is government action for privacy, taking a stand by using Tuta is useless. Right?

@Tutanota@mastodon.social @me_valentijn@m.ai6yr.org @ilumium@eupolicy.social I am disappointed with Tuta after reading this argument, and, given the sheer arrogance displayed, I am seriously considering whether I should continue using it.
